Ten staff members, 15 residents and three transitional care patients have tested positive for covid-19 since Nov. 18 at St. Gertrude’s Health and Rehabilitation Center in Shakopee.
The care center confirmed the positive cases in a message posted Tuesday to its website.
According to St. Gertrude’s, there have been a total of 17 patients, 16 residents in long term care or assisted living, and 46 staff members whom have tested positive since March. Of those, 10 patients, one resident, and 30 staff members have recovered and returned to normal activities.
“Due to Scott County positivity rate, we will be required to provide twice weekly coronavirus testing to our patients, residents and associates beginning Nov. 30,” the website states. “We are testing today, Nov. 24, and have scheduled testing on Dec. 1, 4, 8, and 11.”
Patients and residents who have tested positive for covid-19 are moved to a designated unit to be isolated and receive care.
As of Nov. 24, the following Shakopee care centers are listed on the Minnesota Department of Health’s website as facilities that have reported a covid-19 exposure in a resident, staff person, or visitor in the last 28 days: All Saints Senior Living, Emerald Crest Shakopee, McKenna Crossing, Shakopee Friendship Manor, and St. Gertrude’s.
